New addition to the Rare Book Room collection for Holocaust Memorial Day 2025

鈥淟et my people go鈥 Some practical proposals for dealing with Hitler鈥檚 massacre of the Jews and an appeal to the British public by Victor Gollancz (OP 1905-1912)

This little pamphlet is dated Christmas Day 1942 and is a passionate plea for the British public to pressure their government to support the rescue of persecuted Jewish people from the Nazi Holocaust. He argues for a relaxation of immigration regulations and admission of Jewish refugees from Nazi-occupied Europe.

Priced at only 3d (around 49p today) it sold a quarter of a million copies in only a few months and gained significant public attention. It was unsuccessful however in changing immigration policies and many Jewish refugees were blocked from the United Kingdom.
